As an artist, my art is all about symbols and color. Colors can be as symbolic as glyphs and I use both to illustrate an idea. These ideas are linked to my thinking about non-mundane topics and the intersection of spirit with science.
I draw my ideas from nature and from the visible universe. Some symbolic links with natural elements are traditional. Others are obvious with a little thought. Another group are personal to me. These symbolic links are the basis of my art. Much of my art shows natural elements, like leaves, perhaps representing the passage of time or stages of life or personal qualities.
My newest works are traditional symbols drawn from many cultures. I drew them in colors that add meaning.
Most of my art is drawn using a computer. Even my hand-drawn art is usually scanned in and printed on fabric. The exception is my silk art, which is hand-painted with dye and fabric paint.
